Estimados miembros de ILGA y activistas defensores de Derechos Humanos
Permítanme invitarlos a participar en la manifestación contra la Patologización Trans a realizarse el próximo 17 de Octubre del 2009, y así sumarse al concierto de ciudades que ya se han comprometido en esta acción por la lucha del derecho a la identidad trans. Erradiquemos la discriminación y exclusión social de la población trans fomentada por la estigmatización de la identidad trans como un trastorno de la identidad en el DMS. Acompánenos en la lucha por el respeto a la libertad cultural expresada en el respeto a la construcción de otras alternativas identitarias trans que el marco de género binario es incapaz de incluir.
Hasta el momento varias ciudades han confirmado ya su participacón en la acción:
Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Donosti, Zaragoza, Granada, A Corunha (en el estado español), Torino (Italia), Lisboa (Portugal), Paris, Lille, Marseille (Francia) , Bruselas (belgica), Quito (ecuador), Montréal (Quebec), Campinas (Brasil), se siguen sumándose otras mas, y esperamos que se sumen en el transcurso otras ciudades de Europa, America Latina, el Norte de América, Africa, Asia y de Oceanía.
La manifestación convocada para octubre tiene sus origenes en la iniciativa de las Manis, de visibilidad trans en Paris (llamadas Existrans) que llevan manifestándose algo de diez años. A este acto se sumaron algunos colectivos del Estado español con la particularidad de incorporar a esta fecha la lucha contra el trastorno de identidad de género trans. Entonces las primeras acciones se dieron en Madrid y Barcelona, junto a Paris, en el 2007, y para el 2008 eran ya 11 ciudades que se movilizaron para el 17 de octubre contra la patologizacion trans
La nueva versión del DSM-V aparecerá en el 2012, para la cual la APA (Asociación Americana de Psiquiatría), estuvo difundiendo una encuesta a fin de recoger información pertinente, por ello es preciso profundizar nuestras acciones y difundir nuestros puntos de vista en un tema trascendental para nosotros y nosotras. Concentrando esfuerzos en una manifestación coordinada con la mayor cantidad de ciudades posibles este próximo 17 de octubre hasta el 2012 para exigir la despatologización de las identidades trans.
Por ello, la campaña internacional impulsada hasta el 2012 llamada “Alto a la Patologización Trans – 2012” (Stop Trans Pathologization-2012) tiene el propósito de aglutinar todas las acciones contra el Trastorno de identidad de género.
La organización de la manifestación conlleva:
Ø Que todas las ciudades que se sumen al proyecto deben de confirmarlo antes del 1 de septiembre para poder añadirlas a los manifiestos y carteles que se enviaran a imprimir en la mayoría de ciudades durante el mes de septiembre.
Ø Que el lema de la manifestación puede variar entre ciudades, pero proponemos que todas lleven el sub-lema “Alto a la Patologización Trans – 2012” (Stop Trans Pathologization-2012) para que formen parte de un mismo proyecto
Ø Que podamos incluir el logo de la campaña en la difusión gráfica o por Internet, el cual lo enviaremos pronto.
Ø Que la persona de contacto en cada ciudad nos pueda enviar imágenes/fotos post acción para una difusión centralizada y visibilizar la campaña global con mayor énfasis en los medios de comunicación.
Ø Que cada ciudad pueda desarrollar su propio manifiesto pero teniendo en consideración 5 puntos en común, los siguientes:
Exigimos:
v La retirada del TIG (Trastorno de Identidad de Género) de los manuales internacionales de diagnóstico. (sus próximas versiones DSM-V y CIE-11).
v La retirada de la mención de sexo de los documentos oficiales.
v La abolición de los tratamientos de normalización binaria a personas intersex
v El libre acceso a los tratamientos hormonales y a las cirugías (sin la tutela psiquiátrica)
v La lucha contra la transfobia: propiciando la formación educativa y la inserción social y laboral de las persones trans

Ler me invite you to participate in the demonstration against the Trans Pathologization to be made next October 17th 2009, and thus to add to the concert of cities that already have been jeopardized in this action fighting for the right of trans identity. Let us stamp out the discrimination and social exclusion of trans folk fomented by the stigmatization of trans identity like an disorder identity in the DMS. Come with us in the fight for respect to cultural freedom expressed in the respect of other alternatively trans identity shapes that the binary gender frame is incapable to include.
Until now a days several cities have already confirmed their participation in the action:
Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Donosti, Zaragoza, Granada, Corunha (Spain state) Torino (Italy), Lisbon (Portugal), Paris, Lille, Marseille (France), Brussels (Belgium), Quito (Ecuador), Montreal (Quebec), Campinas (Brazil), There are continue adding other cities, but we hoped that other cities coming from Europe, Latin America, North America, Africa, Asia and of the Australian Continent, will add to the action.
The summoned manifestation next October has its origin in the initiative of the Manis, of trans visibility in Paris (called Existrans) that take pronouncing during more than ten years. Some groups of the Spanish State added to this act with the particularity that they push in this date the fight against gender identity disorder. Then the first actions occurred in Madrid and Barcelona , joined with Paris , in 2007, and for 2008 they were already 11 cities that were mobilized for October 17th against trans pathologization.
The new version of DSM-V will appear in 2012, for which the APA (American Association of Psychiatry), was spreading a survey in order to collect pertinent information, in this sense it is necessary to deepen our actions to spread out our points of view in this transcendental issue for us. Concentrating efforts in a coordinated demonstration with a greater amount of possible cities this October 17th until 2012 to demand the despathologization of trans identities.
For that reason, the impelled international campaign until 2012 called “Stop Trans Pathologization- 2012” has the intention to join all the actions against the gender identity disorder.
The organization of the manifestation entails:
That all cities added to the project must confirm their participation before September 1st in order to be able to add them to the appeals and posters that will be sent to print in the majority of cities during September.
That the motto of the manifestation can vary between cities, but we propose that all take the sub-motto “Stop Trans Pathologization- 2012” so that they can be part of the same project
That we pruned to include the logo of the campaign in the graphic diffusion or by Internet, which we will send it soon.
That the person of contact in each city can send us images/photos post action for a centralized diffusion and to visibilize the global campaign with greater emphasis in mass media.
That each city can develop its own appeal but having in consideration 5 common points, the following ones:
We demand:
The retirement of the GID (Gender Identity Disorder) from the International Diagnosis Manual. (their next versions DSM-V and ICD-11)
Retirement of sex mention in official documents.
Abolition of binary normalization treatments for intersex people
Free access to hormonal treatments and surgeries (without the psychiatric monitoring)
Fight against transfobia: working for education, social and labour insertion for trans people.
